Hello there.

Welcome to my blog. I pen my adventures in travel, food and beauty. Have a nice stay!

Tokyo makes Miso Happy

Tokyo makes Miso Happy

Heyya, it's been long since I last touched this space and I wish I could have better managed my time; take some time out, find some nice cafes to enjoy a good cuppa coffee tea and create/share more interesting experiences here.

Koon and I revisited Tokyo recently and we were lucky to tick off most of our "To-Eat List"! Here are some of the good stuff we had and I hope to do a more thorough post on them later!

This Sesame Ice Cream with Oiri Toppings (600 Yen // 7 SGD) is the ultimate girl-thang and they also have this pink backdrop with colorful balls (resembling the Oiri) for you to take your insta-worthy shots. The sesame ice cream is super rich in flavor and if you're a sesame fan, this is definitely a must-go!

6-pc Mixed Flavor Cheese Tarts by Pablo (1320 Yen // 16 SGD)  - This is one of our must-haves everytime we visit Tokyo. We wanted to get a whole cheese tart (like a size of a cake) but they were sold out so we got these mini cheese tarts instead!! Left to right flavors: Original Cheese, Chocolate & Matcha :)

This pretty looking boba smoothie with truckloads of strawberries topping (and whip cream) from Urth Caffe is on the pricier side (1890 Yen // 23 SGD). Worth a try but IMO, the drink tastes pretty normal and the only wow factor I can think of is probably just the strawberries (and the whole look and feel maybe?).

Note: This was not on their standard menu so I am not too sure if this was a tropical select!

Soft Serve Ice Cream (450 Yen // 6 SGD) from Zaku-Zaku

Croquant-Chou piped with Fresh Hokkaido Cream (250 Yen // 3 SGD) also from Zaku-Zaku

I personally prefer the croquant over the soft serve because of the fresh Hokkaido Custard piping!! It's something like Beard Papa's cream puff but in a different shape and slightly crunchier since it's coated with almond bits.

Tonkatsu Set from Maisen Aoyama - Hands down the best Tonkatsu I've had in Tokyo so far. This post definitely deserves more write-up on its own and I will include the link here later!

Chicken Katsu Curry Rice from GoGo Curry! - One of our favourite haunts whenever we visit Tokyo. We walked to one of their Shinjuku outlets only to found out that it was closed (or perhaps under renovation) but luckily they had one other outlet at Shibuya which fitted nicely into our itinerary :) GoGo Curry used to be available in Singapore too but they closed down a couple of years back.

Mixed Tempura Bowl (750 yen // SGD 9) from TENDON TENYA | I love this Tendon Tenya fastfood chain just like how some Singaporeans love A&W. For less than ten bucks, you can get a decent bowl of mixed tempura (whole squid, shitake mushroom, ebi etc) bowl!

We didn't have the stomach-space to have it at Harajuku this time but we managed to have it at Haneda Airport just before we depart Tokyo. Feel free to check out a full list of their locations from their website

Kakuni-Ramen from Menya Musashi - This is Koon's favourite ramen shop in Tokyo and in this trip alone we went back twice and had the same braised pork ramen!

Bills isn't new to the cafe scene in Tokyo...but this was our first time there after seeing raves on how they serve the "Best Breakfast in The World"!

I have to admit, the raves are credible. These were the fluffiest and yummiest pancakes I've ever had! More on it later! :) Update 22/10/2017 - Check out my post on Bills here.

We teppanyaki-ed our own Okonomiyaki for the first time at Sakura Tei.
This is another interesting experience to share with a post on its own, more updates later! :) Update 05/11/2017: Check out our full review of Sakura Tei here
